Dental care is about more than keeping foul odours in check (although not being bombarded by your pet’s bad breath is certainly a plus). Intense tartar build-up and discoloration of the teeth is not just a cosmetic problem and may affect other aspects of your pet’s overall health.

Poor dental care can result in a wide range of other problems, such as:

✔ Large numbers of bacteria that can work their way into the bloodstream and vital organs, possibly causing heart problems.

✔ Weakened jawbones that leave your pet at risk for sudden fractures.

In some cases, dental surgery may be needed to extract abnormal, damaged or diseased teeth, or removal of oral masses.
